Family Childcare and After School Services Websites

By Madison Lockwood Offering family childcare and after school services from your home means that you are competing with some pretty hefty competition. There are small daycare centers with big backyards and large daycare centers that have a different classroom for each year of preschool plus separate after school care facilities. How can family childcare and after school services compete? First of all, you have the personal touch. Rather than a sterile classroom, you offer a warm and loving home, a personality, home cooked meals, and small groups of kids who get your undivided attention. To let people know that you also offer professionalism and safety for their children, designing a website for them to peruse before calling for an interview is a great way to introduce them to your style of childcare and after school services. Posting on Your Website You have so many things to choose from when it comes to posting on your website that it’s hard to know where to begin. First, of course, you need a great home page. Keep it simple but playful and bright. The tone should say, ‘Kids love it here!’ You may show a piece of artwork done by one of the kids or a photo of them at play (make sure you have their parents permission first). Next, you’ll need an information page for your family childcare service. What ages do you cater to? What time are you open in the morning and when do you ‘close up shop’? Do you ever accommodate overnight stays or late pickups? What about the weekends? Do you feed the kids breakfast as well as lunch? What about afternoon snack or dinner? A page for your after school services is need, too. Again, ages and times are important. Also include whether or not you provide tutoring services for homework help or mandatory quiet time to complete homework before the parents come pick them up. Are snacks include? If so, what do you offer? Other things you might like to list include: Detailed description of the area in your home where the kids will be including the backyard, sandbox, art tables, and supplies A sample schedule for your family childcare day A sample schedule for your after school services A menu for the week so that parents can plan ahead Special movies planned Special open play dates available on the weekend Field trips you’ve taken the kids on and future field trips in the works Contracts and consent forms available for download A blog to talk about what the kids are doing A list of books you’ve read with the kids A list of games you play with the kids A biography pages for tutors you have come visit your after school services A biography page for you all your CPR and emergency certifications as well as child development training A detailed response in case of natural disaster for parents A description of your cleaning procedures and your state certification grade Any special classes that kids can sign up for whether or not they’re enrolled in childcare On every page of your website, you will need to list contact information, giving visitors a way to email you with questions or call. If you have an open play day one Saturday a month or an open house to showcase all that the kids have been doing once a month, then you might include a link on each page for people to RSVP for the next event or to schedule a tour and visit if they’re considering your services for their child. Most important, keep updating your site with new messages. You can communicate with parents and have special pages that require a password just for their children so that they can visit and see how the day went. Take requests from parents about what they’d like to see on the site. Most importantly, enjoy yourself and think it through as you build it. Your professionalism and attention to detail will greatly impress working parents who pride themselves on the same. Madison Lockwood is a customer relations associate for ApolloHosting.com. Treatment for Tuberculosis in Ayurveda

By Peterson Marky It may affect the bones, the membranes of the brain, leading to meningitis, or the glands when it is called scorfula. It may be caused when a person pricks himself with anything sharp infected the with germs, or inhalation of dust particles mixed with the tiny microbe. As the main factor responsible for the disease is the susceptibility to it, as a constitution weakened by continuous ill-health, a lowered power of resistance, heredity, an unhealthy atmosphere, excessive use of intoxicants, over-indulgence in sex hard work asthma and diseases of the metabolism like diabetes. It is a disease of filth and poverty and does not attack persons living in clean surroundings and having sufficient means to feed themselves properly. In Ayurveda it is called Rajyakshma, the king of disease. Moon, the king among the satellites of the earth, according to our mythology, was supposed to have been afflicted because of a curse of Brahma, the creator and hence the name, Rajyakshma has been given to this ailment. In the early stages of the disease, there is an irritating cough, particularly in the morning, either without an expectoration or with a clear mucus or phlegm. The first sign of the disease is a blood-flecked phlegm accompanied by fever in the evenings and below normal temperatures in the early morning and also night sweats. When the symptoms are aggravated and emaciation has set in, the second stage is supposed to have been reached. If extreme care is not taken and treatment is not done it may spread to the throat and the intestines. The terminal stage comes when the illness reaches deep into the lungs and they are full of cavities. The voice of the patient may become husky at this stage, there may be diahorrea and extreme prostration, with the patient being unable to leave the bed and finally. The death comes because of extensive haemorrhage. The duration of the illness depends on 4 factors (i) The intensity of the infection; (ii) The age of the patient; (iii) The stage at which the disease has been recognised; and (iv) The natural resistance of the body. If the disease reaches the intestines, there is inflammation of the bowels with impairment of digestion, distension of the stomach, rumbling noises in the abdomen and a persistant ache. If the small intestine is involved, the patient is constipated but when the large intestine becomes seat of the ailment, diahorrea is the result. Emaciation increases faster than in pulmonary TB. In scorfula, or TB of the glands, inflammation is the chief characteristic. Tumours form and they suppurate giving a foul smell. When the disease attacks the bones, the bones start crumbling and a state known as caries of the bones results. When it reaches the spine, there is curvature and the patient is unable even to stand erect. TB of the bones affects young people. Treatment of tuberculosis has two faces : (1) preventive, and (2) curative or remedial. The preventive aspect is more social than medical. It is from the slums that the disease starts its fatal march. Provision of clean, healthy surroundings with properly ventilated and clean houses is the first imperative. Detection and isolation of the victims of the disease is the second most important thing that can be done. Thirdly, the diet is of primary importance. Plenty of milk, butter, black gram eggs, ground of the various varieties, turnips, beet root, spinach and other green vegetables, fruits, etc. are the other preventives. As has been stated earlier, it is a disease of filth and poverty. The treatment of a case of tuberculosis must start with the isolation of the patient and his removal to a sanitorium if the disease has been detected at a secondary stage. If that is not possible, he should be housed in an airy room where there is enough sunlight. Garlic is a wonderful drug for in the cure of TB. Thirty grains of garlic boiled in about eight ounces of milk and two pounds of water should be administered in two doses in the day. But the medicine is ready only when the whole decoction has been reduced to one fourth of its original quantity. Ayurveda recommends Vasa (adhatoda vasica) for tuberculosis. One ounce of the juice from the leaves of the drug given thrice in the day with honey provides relief. But the useful drug is Naradiya Mahalakshami Vilasa Rasa which contains traces of gold. It should be administered in three doses of 200 mg each in the day. Swarna Vasant Malati is the drug in cases where there is excessive fever, sweating and burning sensation on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. Rudanti (cressa crestca) given in 2 gm. doses twice daily reduce the virulence of the disease. Drakshasava should be administered in one ounce doses after meals. It should be mixed with an equal quantity of water. Chyavanaprasha Avaleha is another good remedy to give strength to the patient. The dosage in the beginning should be two teaspoonfuls with milk on an empty stomach twice daily, but as the patient gains strength, it should be increased. Long pepper in powdered form should be given in one teaspoonful doses twice daily. In the initial stages of the disease, when there is dry cough, fever in the night and weakness, the following medicines should be given: Suvarna Vasanta Malati Rasa 250 mg. Praval Pishti 500 mg. Amritasatva 250 mg. It should be administered with preserve (murabba) of amla, thrice daily. In case there is bleeding then the following drugs should be administered. (1) Vasantamalati 120 mg. To be taken in morning and evening with goats milk. In cases of high temperatures of tuberculosis, the following prescriptions should be administered : (1) Muktapanchamrita 120 mg. Pachanana Rasa 120 mg. Amritasatva 240 mg. To be taken morning and evening with honey. (2) Chandramrita 1 gm. Sitopaladi 12 gm. To be mixed with honey and to be used as linctus. Dried fruits, particularly dried grapes, almond oil, etc. are useful in this condition. Drumsticks, patola and kundru are the best vegetables recommended for a consumptive patient. Products of the goat, its milk, flesh and even urine, are useful for a TB patient. The Easy Weight Loss Plan Review

By Brian Bonito Start it now and start it simply. The easy weight loss plan consists of a little exercise, a few eating changes, and a little mental preparation. The toughest part, believe it or not, is having the strength to begin. Hot tip: If you can get past that first push, you just might find yourself on the winning end of a huge chunk of weight loss. The easy weight loss plan divided: You have 3 parts. The first is exercise. We keep it easy. Begin slowly by walking a few minutes every day, preferably after your last meal of the day. Start with 10-20 minutes and increase slowly over time. If youre knees are problematic, you can use a stationary bike. The key here is to begin. There will be distractions. You must overcome the emotion to put it off. Beware! The emotion of procrastination can strike from anywhere. Dont forget to check with you doctor before beginning any weight loss plan The second part is altering your diet. Thats such a confining word, the D word. It brings with it a lot of ill will. But this is the new millennium. There are incredible food alternatives on the market today. Think not of being on a diet, but think of yourself as a strategist unlocking the key to weight loss success. The easy weight loss plan: here are some hard and fast rules to follow. Increase your water intake to at least 10 cups daily. Increase your fiber intake, slowly, until you consistently reach 40 grams a day. And finally, protein: never consume a meal that does not consist of a good protein source. Pasta by itself is not good. Im going to leave the saturated fats and sugars alone, except to say one thing. Minimize them. Part three is perhaps the most important. Nothing begins until there is desire. Were speaking of motivation. Do not underestimate the mental focus it takes to carry out even the easy weight loss plan. This will derail your weight loss chances faster than cheating on your diet. You keep yourself motivated by engaging in mental activities such as goal setting, visualization, and proper weight loss and inspirational reading materials. You create a path to weight loss success by laying a foundation first, and then building up from there. Get your FREE subscription to Underground Weight Loss VIDEOS. Medical Treatments for ADD

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jason_Rickard] Jason Rickard ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) is an ailment that does not only concern children. Although signs of ADD are commonly manifested during childhood, it could also affect teenagers and adults. Symptoms would include hyperactivity, forgetfulness and lack of focus. Individuals who are showing the symptoms of ADD should immediately consult their physicians. Doctors would immediately prescribed medication that can help control these symptoms. Study shows that ADD is attributed to the dysfunction of brain chemicals and prescribed medicines can help with such condition. Specific medicines can influence the make up of natural brain chemicals. Here are some of the most common types of medical treatments for individuals who suffer from ADD: Dexamfetamine (Dexedrine) Atomoxetine (Strattera) Methylphenidate (Equasym, Concerta and Ritalin) The above medicines basically affect the brains noradrenaline and dopamine. These parts of the brain are responsible for the behavior and attention span of an individual. If an individual suffer from ADD, chances are these parts of the brain remain inactive. Medicines made for ADD could rouse activity in these areas. Most of these medicines, particularly dexamfetamine and methylphenidate, are actually therapeutic stimulant medicines. These can improve an individuals sympathetic nervous system and are designed to improve alertness. Stimulants medicines have been used to treat ADD for more than three decades. For children one to six years old, atomoxetine is highly recommended. ADD patients who take these medicines show less violent behaviour and a more controlled temperament. They are observed to have better concentration and listening skills. They begin to be less impulsive and think clearly before taking actions. These behaviors when maintained would cause dramatic improvements after several months. ADD sufferers can be more effective in school. They can build more stable social relationships with their schoolmates, friends and family members. In the long run, these improvements would instill in them self-assurance to help them go on with their lives. It is important to note that medicines dont guarantee a cure for ADD. They simply help reduce the symptoms. Although there are certain prescribed medicines to treat ADD, its effectiveness still largely depends on the individual who takes them. For prescribed medicines to be efficient, it should always be coupled with proper support and encouragement from the people that surrounds them. Guide to Bonsai Tools

By Steve Welker To practice the art of Bonsai you must have the proper tools. I am going to list and describe the more common bonsai tools. When you first start out you will not need all of the tools listed and depending on your level of involvement in Bonsai you may never need them all. Pruning & Cutting Tools Pruning and cutting tools are used for any cutting that is too heavy to be performed with scissors. Concave Branch Cutter: These are heavy duty cutters designed similar to bolt cutters. They are used to cleanly and smoothly remove fair sized branches. Spherical Knob Cutters: Are similar to the branch cutter except the cutting piece is spherical. These are designed to cut through heavy knobs or knots. Folding Pruning saw: This is a small rough-cut saw that with a blade that folds back into the handle similar to a pocketknife. They are used for cutting very heavy branches or when you need to cut down the trunk of your bonsai tree. Shears: You use shears for many different medium to light cutting jobs. Woodworking Gouges: Gouges are used for multiple artistic purposes in bonsai. They are frequently used to remove bark or to score the trunk to simulate natural damage to a tree. Scissors: Scissors are a staple tool for all bonsai enthusiast; they come in various shapes and sizes to handle various jobs. Leaf Cutting Scissors: Just as the name implies these are used mainly for light work like pruning back or removing leaves. Shoot Trimming Scissors: These are a heavier set of scissors designed for cut small to mid-sized shoots or branches. Heavy Duty Shoot Scissors: These are an even heavier pair of scissors designed for all the shoots that are too large for the regular shoot scissors but too small for a pruner. Potting Tools The pot that you keep your bonsai in is very important for both its health and proper development. Bonsai need frequent re-potting and root modification. These are the tools most useful for those tasks. Root Hooks: These are used to separate the root ball into a more manageable form for trimming and pruning. They are a heavy wire bent at one end and usually sharpened to a fair point. Potting Trowel: This is just a small garden trawl that will be used to dig and manipulate the soil in your bonsai pot. Soil Scoops: Are small metal or plastic cups with a handle and the open end is cut into a scoop shape. They are used to remove or add soil to the pot. Brush: Soft brushes are used to lightly clean and maintain the trunk, branches and leaves of the bonsai. Wire Tools: Wires are frequently used to train the bonsai plant into the proper artistic form. There are a multitude of tools used to work with wire most of these are available at any hardware or automotive store. Common Wire Snips: These are common wire snips that are frequently used by electricians, they should be heavy enough to handle any of the aluminum wire used for bonsai. Heavy Duty Wire Snips : These are just a heavier version of the snips listed above that might be needed if you are working with some heavier than average wire. Pliers: Common house hold pliers are used for bending and twisting the wire into the proper shape and position. Needle Nose Pliers: These are pliers that come to a fine point and are useful for working in tight confines around the trunk and branches. Miscellaneous Tools Some general tools that do not fit in any of the other categories. Chop Sticks: These are perfect for tamping and working the soil down around the roots of the tree. Gardeners Knife: This is handy for many of the heavy non-delicate cutting you have to do. Rake: A small rake just like a garden or yard rake except in miniature is used to clean and maintain the surface of the soil. Tweezers: Tweezers are often necessary to work around the limited space on many bonsai. How to Choose Your Ideal Career

By Skye Thomas They say that most people do complete and total career changes at least once often twice in their lifetimes. Very few people chose the ideal perfect career for themselves when they’re in high school and blissfully happily work those same jobs for the rest of their lives. With the way that technology and everything else changes so fast, I think it’s ridiculous to expect to stay in one job from the time you leave school until you retire. Even staying in the same company can be a huge challenge. So how will you pick your first career? Your next major career change? The first thing I want you to look at is what kinds of things do you enjoy doing and what you are naturally good at. Imagine that you just won the lottery and you will never have to work again for another day of your life. How would you spend your time? After the shopping sprees and traveling and such grows old, you’re going to have to fill your days up doing something so that you aren’t bored out of your mind. What would you do? What would consume your attention if you could freely bury yourself in it? Is there a way to make a living at that now? Is there a way to incorporate some of that into your current career? Could you begin doing it now as a hobby and grow it into a second income and eventually quit your ‘real job’ to play full time at your new hobby/career? You obviously have to look at practicality issues. Truth be known my very favorite thing to do is drive convertibles and suntan at the beach. That’s not likely going to ever become a career and it sure as heck isn’t going to pay my bills! You have to look at what you like to do and take a realistic look at whether the market is ever going to pay you an income for doing it. Just because you love doing something doesn’t mean that the world is going to love giving you money for doing it. There are plenty of musicians and artists out there who can’t earn enough to support themselves. It takes more then just a love of your work. Pick a number of different things that you love and narrow the list down by deciding which ones would realistically finance you at the level that you require. Another thing to consider, especially when you’re choosing your first job is how much education or special training is required. How many kids think that because they love to play basketball that they’ll be the next Michael Jordan? How many put in the kind of work and practice that he did? If you want to be a doctor, then you better seriously contemplate the years of college and the extremely high cost of going to medical school. Down the road, a lot of the experience you get in one career can be transferred to your next career. Customer service skills that you learn while waiting tables will still serve you later when you’re an entrepreneur. If you have a lot of the skills from previous work experience, but not all of them, then you have to figure out how to finance going to night school or whatever else you need to do to change careers. Additional education and skills shouldn’t stop you from changing to a great job that you know you’ll love, but you do need to take it into serious consideration while making the choice. Many of the community colleges have these cool placement tests that tell you what kinds of work you’d be happy doing. They ask you a bunch of multiple choice questions like if you’d rather work indoors or outside. Do you want to travel as part of your career or stay home? How much weight are you willing to lift? How introverted or extroverted are you? How much money do you want to make? After you answer these questions and a bunch more, the computer system spits out a list of careers that you would be suited to. Keep in mind that what interested you at twenty isn’t likely to be the same as what interests you at forty. I would think that you could do an online search and find some of those tests online. These will give you some ideas you may have never considered. I remember taking one when I was in my early twenties and I ranked extremely high at “Clergy.” I laughed and thought that was the stupidest thing I’d ever heard of. I wanted to be a motivational speaker and it took me a couple of days before I realized that it’s a very similar job description. Whether I’m telling you about God or I’m telling you how to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, it’s the same skills and many of the same daily tasks. I’m preaching a different topic, but I’m still up on my soapbox telling you what to do and telling you how to live, aren’t I? So be open minded to what the test results show. So, start out by brainstorming ideas of things that you would love to do if money was not an issue. Then add to it the results of one of those placement tests. Take the ideas from those two exercises and start looking at the practicalities of marketability and how much education and training are necessary. If you can find a way to do what you love and make a living at it, then you’ve got the key ingredients to creating a life of abundance and prosperity that the rest of the world only dreams of. You don’t have to stay with something just because you used to love it and now you make a lot of money doing it. If you are bored and ready for something new, then start dreaming and planning your next adventure. How To Avoid Yeast Infection Candida Causes

By Jane Symms The sad truth is that the yeast infection Candida is often caused because of two main factors that destroy the friendly bacteria (probiotics) in our body that would normally suppress it. Unfortunately because of the lives we lead today candida yeast infections have become much more prevalent. So much so that doctors believe that 3 out of every 4 women will at some stage in their life be affected by a of yeast infection at least once. It has been found that there are over 20 different strains of Candida living in the human body and the most common of them all is Candida Albicans. Generally this form of yeast lives on the surface of our bodies and in the digestive system without problems. However, if at any stage the conditions change then the candida yeast can multiply leading to a yeast infection. The most common types of yeast infections are vaginal yeast infections, thrush, skin infections as well as nappy rash and infections that can infect the nail beds. It is often the dietary choices we make, the lifestyle we live and if we have been taking specific medication that can increase our risk of a candida yeast infection. If our immune response becomes weaker (due to a repressed immune system) it can provide an ideal environment in which the yeast infection Candida can grow. Here are two areas that increase the risk of someone suffering from yeast infections:- 1. Diet Diets that are very high in cooked and refined processed food can contain additives and preservatives, which place more strain on the digestive system as they struggle to process them. Most of these products are highly acidic and contain large amounts of sugar which encourages Candida growth. So, it is important to remove sugar and sugary foods from the diet, as the yeast feeds on the sugar. This means eliminating refined or natural sugars, including fruit, fruit juices, syrups and honey. It is also essential to reduce the amount of food in the diet that contains yeast, or products made with yeast, including most breads and alcohol. Continue reading to find out how to join our free natural candida relief newsletter. 2. Environmental toxins and medication There are many toxins in the environment and in the food we eat. Many of these are unfortunately introduced in process of getting the food and drink to your table. There are also toxins in the air we breathe and there are certain medications that can effect the environment in gastrointestinal tract, and also impact the immune system. Toxins can build up in our system over time, which can impact on the immune system. If this occurs, it can lead to an increased chance of the candida yeast overgrowing and infecting the body. The main source of many of the chemicals that we ingest today can be found in the food that we eat. You only have to read the labels in order to see just how many chemical additives have been used in many of the processed foods that are available for purchase. So it is important that if you want to keep the yeast infection Candida at bay you limit the amount of man made chemicals that you ingest by eating a diet full of fresh, natural produce. Unique Wedding Guest Book Ideas

By Heather Robinson Guest books are a must for any event, especially for weddings! It is the perfect way to preserve the names of loved ones that shared in your special event! However, over the years guest books have become, for a lack of a better word, boring! There needs to be an infusion of personality into the ordinary guest book. Its time to make guest books as stylish and trendy as todays brides-to-be. Do you want a guest book that will make a statement? Lets take a look at some great ways to take your guest book up a notch or two! 1. What about a photo guest book album? Now thats a cute idea! Set up a photo station with a simple flat sheet or large piece of fabric. Have your guest book attendant greet your guests with either a Polaroid camera (for an instant guest book) or a digital camera. Have a designated area on each album page for your guest to sign. Add the pictures taken and Voila a guest book photo album! 2. Budget getting a little tight? Cut or buy 3×5 or 4×6 note cards in a color that coordinates with your wedding (simple cardstock paper will do the trick). Dress them up with embellishments or keep them simple. Place them in a basket or spread them out on a silver platter. Place a framed card on your guest book table instructing your guests to leave their names and words of advice for the bride and groom. Later on, you can put them in any standard photo album. 3. Create a wedding scrapbook. As your wedding supplies arrive (i.e. invitations, programs, printed napkins, etc.) place them in a scrapbook.
